BarnThread Privacy Policy

Effective October 17, 2026

Who we are

Gleanry Software LLC operates BarnThread, a service for managing boarding barns, horse care, documents, inventory, services, and lessons. This policy explains how we handle information when you use BarnThread. Contact support@gleanry.com with privacy questions or requests, or security@gleanry.com to report a security concern.

Information we collect

Account information includes your email address, account identifier, name, phone number, barn memberships, roles, and authentication records. Our authentication provider handles your password; BarnThread does not display your password to barn owners or staff.

Information you and your barn provide may include barn addresses and contact details; horse identity, ownership associations, care instructions and records; service requests; inventory and purchase records; uploaded photos and files; agreements, typed acknowledgments and signature timestamps; and lesson scheduling, attendance, credits and workload records.

Lesson records may include rider names, dates of birth, guardian relationships, experience levels, and emergency contacts. Information may be entered by the rider, a guardian, or an authorized barn member.

When you contact us, we receive the information you include in your message. Our hosting and service providers also process technical information such as IP addresses, request times, device or browser information, authentication activity, and error or security logs.

How we use information

We use information to authenticate accounts, manage permissions, operate the barn and lesson features you choose to use, store documents, record acknowledgments and external payments, deliver account emails, provide support, prevent abuse, protect the service, and respond to privacy requests or legal obligations. We do not use your personal information for advertising or sell it.

Sharing within a barn

BarnThread shares information with authorized people according to their barn membership, role, horse associations, and guardian or instructor access. Barn owners and managers can access administrative records for their barn. Staff receive operational information needed for their work. Boarders and guardians receive information available to their memberships and associated horses or riders.

Your barn determines much of the information it enters and how it uses that information. Contact your barn owner to correct barn records or discuss a barn agreement. You can also contact Gleanry Software LLC about information processed through BarnThread. Joining one barn does not authorize access to another barn.

Service providers

We use Supabase for authentication, databases, private file storage, and backend functions; Resend to deliver account emails; and Expo services for app builds and distribution. Cloudflare hosts our public website, privacy policy, and account-deletion pages. Namecheap Private Email handles messages sent to our Gleanry email addresses. These providers process information needed to supply their services. App stores and your device platform may separately process installation, purchase, or diagnostic information under their own policies.

We may disclose information when required by law or valid legal process, to protect rights or investigate abuse, or in connection with a business transfer subject to applicable protections. We do not provide customer data to advertising networks.

Camera, files, and device storage

Camera and file access are used when you choose to take a photo or upload a document. You can decline or revoke camera permission in your device settings and use available file-selection options instead. BarnThread does not request background location tracking, microphone recording, or access to your contact book.

BarnThread stores session information on your device to keep you signed in. The web app uses browser storage for authentication. The local demonstration mode also stores demonstration barn data on the device. Temporary copies of selected files may be created by the operating system or file picker. Signing out or removing the app does not by itself delete server-side account information.

Payments

The current BarnThread ledger records charges and payments made outside the app, including amounts, dates, parties and payment-method labels. It does not collect bank-account credentials or card numbers to settle those barn charges. If subscription billing or integrated payment processing is introduced, we will update the relevant disclosures before collecting additional payment information.

Retention and account deletion

We retain information while needed to provide BarnThread and for the purposes described in this policy. You can initiate deletion from the account-deletion option in BarnThread or from our public account-deletion page without reinstalling the app. We verify the account, save a request reference, and aim to complete deletion within 30 days. Submission does not mean deletion is already complete. We confirm completion by email and explain any legally required retention or delay.

Deletion covers your login, profile, memberships, uploaded content, and associated personal information. A sole barn owner can transfer ownership to another active member or explicitly authorize closing the barn and deleting its shared data. A transfer takes effect when the request is saved; closure and data cleanup follow the request timeline. A barn with another active owner can continue operating. Shared operational or financial records may remain only after personal information has been removed or where a specific legal obligation requires retention. We do not treat disabling a login or leaving a barn as completed account deletion.

Where permitted and appropriate, information can be anonymized so it no longer identifies you. If information must be retained for a legal obligation, we restrict its use to that purpose and explain the reason and applicable period to you. Backup copies and provider logs may remain for their applicable retention cycles; data removed from active use is not restored for ordinary use. Contact support@gleanry.com if you want to request deletion of particular information without deleting your account.

Your choices and requests

You can ask to access, correct, or delete your personal information and obtain information about its use. Depending on where you live, additional rights may apply. Contact support@gleanry.com and identify BarnThread in your message. We may verify your identity before acting on a request. Never send us your password or an email verification code.

You may stop using the service, sign out, or change device permissions at any time. Your barn may have separate obligations concerning records it maintains outside BarnThread, and deleting your BarnThread account does not delete copies independently held outside the service.

Children and dependent riders

BarnThread is operated through barn members and guardians. Dependent riders can be recorded and managed by adults without having their own login. We do not intend to offer independent accounts to children under 13. If you believe a child has supplied personal information without appropriate authorization, contact support@gleanry.com so we can investigate and address it.

Security and international processing

We use HTTPS, authenticated access, barn-scoped permissions, private file storage, and other technical measures to protect information. No service can guarantee absolute security. Report suspected unauthorized access to security@gleanry.com.

Our service providers may process information in the United States and other locations where they operate. Applicable privacy protections and legal safeguards depend on your location and the processing involved.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as BarnThread changes. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when required for material changes. Contact Gleanry Software LLC at support@gleanry.com with questions.
